Privacy policy

The short version: I only collect what you choose to send me, I only use it to reply to you and to do the work you've asked for, and I never sell it or add you to a mailing list without asking.

Who I am

Human Web Co (ABN 46 298 119 036) is a web design business run by Stuart, based in south-east Melbourne, Victoria. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean Human Web Co. You can contact me about privacy at sales@humanwebco.com or on 0478 780 076.

What I collect

From the contact form: your name, email address, and anything else you choose to give me, such as your business name, phone number and message.
When you call, email or message me: your contact details and what you tell me.
When you become a client: the details needed to quote, build, invoice and support your website, such as your business details, billing details and the content you send me.
Technical information: the spam check on my contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile) looks at basic browser and device signals to tell people from bots. My hosting provider keeps standard server logs, like IP addresses and pages requested, for security.

I don't use advertising trackers on this website.

How I use it

To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
To build, launch and look after your website if you become a client
To send invoices and keep the business records the law requires
To keep my website and contact form safe from spam and abuse

I won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked for them, and you can opt out at any time.

Who I share it with

I don't sell or rent your information. I use a small number of trusted services to run my business, and they handle information on my behalf:

Cloudflare, for the contact form's spam check and for processing form submissions
Resend, to deliver contact form messages to my inbox
Zoho Mail, for my business email
My website hosting provider, which serves this site
My accounting and invoicing software, for quotes, invoices and payments

Some of these services store information outside Australia, including in the United States. I also share information if the law requires it, or with my accountant for tax purposes.

How long I keep it

If you enquire and don't go ahead, I delete your enquiry within 2 years. If you become a client, I keep your details for as long as I'm working with you, and keep invoices and business records for at least 5 years, as Australian tax law requires.

Keeping it safe

I store logins and client information in secure, password-protected accounts with two-step sign-in, and only I can access them.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it (unless I have to keep it by law). Just email sales@humanwebco.com. If you're not happy with how I've handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
